The unique atmosphere of Mount Vernon makes it ideal for conferences and team-building events. Whether you want a rugged escape, a distraction-free brainstorming session, or simply a space in which to clear your busy minds and pull together, we can design the perfect package.

If you’re looking for executive fun on a tight time-frame, there’s no need to leave the estate. We offer a range of activities on-site, from paintballing to archery. Of course, if you do wish to leave, just let us know – we can have a helicopter meet you on the lawn.

A flight to French Farm Winery for lunch is a popular option – transfers, sightseeing and fishing trips can also be arranged in Mount Vernon’s boat, an Americas Cup-style tender powered by twin 150hp Yamaha engines. On offer nearby are activities such as kayaking, climbing, abseiling or swimming with the local Hectors Dolphins – just let us know what interests you, and we can organise a programme to suit.

Our conference room seats up to 100 people, and is fully equipped with audio and video projection equipment. It also has its own commercial kitchen, capable of supplying everything from tea and coffee to a full gourmet dinner. For those wishing to self-cater, full equipment hire is available.

Alternatively, we can arrange catering for you, with a range of menus available from top local chefs. The Akaroa region is famous for its food, from locally-farmed salmon and fresh-caught groper to wines, olive oils and cheeses. Tastings can also be arranged!

For a meeting with a difference – or just a team-building chat – gather around the sunken fireplace in the Lodge’s lounge, and enjoy the stunning view over Akaroa harbour.

Mount Vernon has accommodation for up to 50 people, and for every occasion.

  • We have two luxurious and very private self-contained cottages, Pheasant and The Maison, for those individuals requiring their own space.
  • Our two-bedroom cabins provide upmarket accommodation for up to six people each, with bathroom, kitchen and living area as well as their own decks and BBQ facilities.
  • The Lodge can accommodate up to 24 people under one roof, with six two-storey, ensuite units, a large communal lounge, and a full kitchen. It also has a large deck with BBQ facilities, and perhaps the best views on the estate.
  • The Alpine Lodge offers a comfortable, back-to-basics approach, where a group of up to 11 people can share 4 rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen.
